    Naira sheds N5 against dollar at official window, trades N1,544/$1

    The naira shed a marginal N5 against the American dollar at the official window on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

    The local currency traded at N1,544/$1 at the official window according to data from the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM).

    This indicated that the N1,544/$1 was N5 higher than the N1,539/$1 the currency traded at the official window the previous trading day.

    For the third consecutive day, the naira traded steady against the dollar at the parallel section of the forex market at N1,665/$1.

    The same applied for the British Pound which also closed flat to trade N2,220/£1 same as the previous rate of N2,220£1.

    The Canadian dollar traded at N1,280| CA$1 same as the previous rate of N1,280| CA$1.

    The naira however gained N5 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,835/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,840/€1.
