In Kogi State, 206 recently promoted officers have received decorations from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, or NSCDC.

NSCDC Kogi State Commandant Akinlade Esther, who spoke at the event, urged the recently promoted officers to intensify their efforts in safeguarding the country’s vital resources and to continue the battle against crime and criminality in the nation.

Reminding the officers that their promotion is a call for more service in Nigeria, Akinlade said that the NSCDC, which she is in charge of, will make sure Kogi State isn’t a haven for criminals.

She praised NSCDC Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi and Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for reviving and turning the Corps into a success story.

“Any organization’s human capital is crucial to fulfilling its missions, and this must be acknowledged. The importance of committed employees to the success of a firm is frequently underlined.

In order to avoid the risk of keeping a discouraged workforce that might not completely correspond with the goals and objectives of the Corps, it is imperative that worthy workers be recognized and promoted promptly.

Akinlade continued, “It is important to remember that promotion comes from God, not from the north, south, east, or west. However, it usually carries a lot of responsibility, which heightens the higher level of loyalty, courage, discipline, and professionalism, especially in the face of the complex and ever-changing challenges posed by modern-day crime.”

Traditional leaders and military and paramilitary officers who attended the ceremony urged the officers to further up their efforts to fight the nation’s insecurity.

15 Deputy Commandants, 13 Assistant Commandants, 24 Chief Superintendents, 25 Superintendents, 42 Deputy Superintendents, 43 Assistant Superintendents 1 and 2, and 43 Assistant Superintendents 2 make up the newly promoted officers.

Six Deputy Commandants of the Corps from Kogi State were reportedly upgraded to the rank of Commandant.
