Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, dismissed a suit seeking the removal of Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The judge delivered the ruling in a suit filed by the North-Central APC Forum led by Saleh Zazzaga.

The forum had in the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/599/2024 changed Ganduje’s appointment as the APC national chairman when he is not from the North-Central.

The plaintiffs urged the court to nullify the appointment for violating the party’s constitution.

The former Kano State governor, APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were listed as respondents in the suit.

In his ruling, the judge agreed with the APC’s preliminary objection to the application.

The party in its counter-affidavit urged the court to strike out the suit because the plaintiffs do not have the required locus standi to institute the suit.

Ekwo also accepted the objection of INEC which argued that the forum was not a registered body.

He held that the group lacked the authority to file the suit since it was not a registered body.

“I hereby dismiss this suit for lack of juristic personality of the claimant.

“The claimant has no locus standi to institute the suit and I make an order striking out the suit for lack of locus standi,” the judge ruled.
