The presidency has dismissed as bundle of lies, reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Yemi Cardoso to resign from his position.

The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, made the clarification in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.

He was reacting to reports which had gained ground in recent days that President had lost patience with the country’s number one banker over the steady fall of the naira.

The president appointed Cardoso as CBN governor on September 15, 2023.

“It’s all lies. President Tinubu has not asked Yemi Cardoso to resign,” Onanuga said while dismissing the report.
