On Tuesday, Taofeek Saula, 57, showed up in an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on charges of assaulting another man while brandishing a dangerous weapon.

Saula, whose address was not given, is charged with four counts: malicious damage, conspiracy, assault, and threat to life.

The court was informed by the prosecutor, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, that the defendant and other individuals who are still at large committed the offenses at Anglican Road in Ota, Ogun, sometime about 2007.
Adebowale Adewale, the complainant, was injured when the defendant used a deadly weapon to attack him during a dispute, according to Adaraloye.

He claimed that the argument started because the defendant had inappropriately invaded the complainant’s property.

According to the prosecutor, the offenses violated Sections 81, 252, 335, and 516 of the Laws of Ogun, 2006, which are part of the Criminal Code.

That being said, the defendant entered a not guilty plea to the case.

Mrs. O. O. Fadairo, the magistrate, set bail for the defendant at N100,000 with a corresponding surety.

As per her statement, the surety needs to be a gainfully employed individual who resides within the court’s jurisdiction and provides proof of tax payment to the Ogun Administration.

In order to give the case more time, the magistrate postponed it until November 19.
