    Naira begins week on a low, loses N1 to trade N1541/$1 at official window

    The naira began the week on a losing note to trade at N1541.94/$1 on Monday September 30, 2024 against the American dollar at the official window

    The local currency traded at N1541.94/$1 at the official window according to data from the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM).

    This indicated that the N1541.94/$1 was N1.94 lower than the N1,540/$1 the currency traded at the official window the previous trading day.

    The naira, however, closed flat against the dollar at the parallel section of the forex market to trade at N1,700/$1 same as against the previous day’s rate of N1,700/$1.

    The naira lost N15 against the British Pound to trade at N2,280/£1 as against the previous rate of N2,265£1.

    The Canadian dollar traded at N1,280| CA$1 same as the previous rate of N1,280| CA$1.

    The naira lost N20 flat against the Euro to trade at ₦1,880/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,860/€1.
