    EFCC arrests 13 suspected internet fraudsters in Sokoto

    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 13 suspected internet fraudsters in Sokoto State.

    The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

    He said the suspects were arrested on Saturday in the Gidan Yaro and Dandima areas of the state following intelligence suggesting the suspects’ involvement in internet-related offences.

    The spokesman said: “All 13 suspects claim to be students at Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto. Once investigations are concluded, they will face charges in court.

    “This recent crackdown is part of the EFCC’s ongoing efforts to combat internet fraud across Nigeria.”
