    One dead, 10 injured in Ogun auto crash

    One person died while 10 others were injured in an accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday.

    The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Mrs. Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident in a statement in Abeokuta.

    She said the accident occurred at about 3:00 p.m., near the Saapade Bridge, and involved a white Mazda Bus with registration number GGE 858 XY.

    Okpe added that the accident was caused by excessive speed.

    “A total number of 17 people were involved, comprising eight men, seven women and two children.

    “Unfortunately, one woman died while 10 people —- two men, six women and two children —- sustained injuries,” she said.

    The FRSC official said the injured victims were taken to Patmag Hospital in Ogere for medical attention while the deceased was deposited at the FOS Morgue at Ipara.
