A tragic incident occurred in the Ijegun area of Lagos State on September 9, 2024, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Faroul Azeez.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin in a press release on Wednesday, Azeez was fatally stabbed in the neck by his neighbor, 19-year-old Fatimo Agboke, during a confrontation.

“The victim was stabbed with a broken bottle on his neck by Agboke, which caused him grievous bodily harm. He gave up the ghost during an attempt to rush to a hospital for medical attention,” Hundeyin said.

The altercation reportedly began as a fight between Agboke and Azeez, during which the suspect allegedly grabbed a broken bottle and inflicted the deadly wound. Despite attempts to rush Azeez to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries en route.

Hundeyin confirmed that Agboke has been arrested and detained, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“The division raced to the scene where the lifeless body of the deceased was seen on the ground, facing up in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his neck. The corpse has been removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for autopsy,” he added.
