The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday arraigned one Ibrahim Shuaibu at the Kaduna State High Court for alleged N100 million fraud.

The defendant was arraigned on a seven-count charge of criminal breach of trust, impersonation, and obtaining by false pretence.

In a statement posted on its X handle, the commission alleged that Shuaibu falsely represented himself as the Group Executive Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) and offered to help his victim acquire over 2,000 litres of petroleum products in 2017.

After he received the funds, he did not deliver the products or refund the victim’s money.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following his plea, the prosecution counsel, M. Lawal, urged the court to fix a date for the trial.

Justice Darius Khobo ordered the defendant to be remanded in the EFCC custody.
