Three prominent groups in the North have endorsed the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle’s comprehensive military operation to combat banditry in the North-West.

The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Northern Awareness Network, and North West Solidarity Forum commended Matawalle’s initiative and stressed the need for decisive action against the bandits terrorising the region.

The groups spoke in separate statements released in Kaduna on Sunday, by the President-General of the AYCF, Yerima Shettima, Chairman of NAN, Salihu Suleiman and spokesperson for the NWSF, Tanimu Danlawal.

The minister planned to deploy military assets to Sokoto State to enhance joint military operations against bandits.

The operation’s strategic headquarters will be in Sokoto, with the Chief of Defence Staff and other top military officers joining Matawalle.

The groups praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of a coordinated response to threats against national security.

“We are committed to working alongside government officials, security agencies, and local communities to ensure a safe and secure future for all citizens.
