Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract with Arsenal and will now stay on at the club until 2027.

The Spaniard’s contract was billed to expire at the end of this season but has now been extended until the summer of 2027.

The Gunners appointed Arteta, who had been working as a coach under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City at the time, to replace compatriot Unai Emery as boss in December 2019.
