Notorious bandit kingpin, Bello Turji has once again dared the Nigerian military to come and get him after the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, vowed to capture him.

General Musa who made the vow while addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, said it was just a matter of time before Turji is arrested.

Also reacting to Turji’s imposition of a N30 million levy on the residents of Moriki village in Zamfara State as compensation for the killing of his men by soldiers, Musa had assured that the issue of levy would be addressed when he’s captured.

Describing Turji as a deranged fellow, Musa said:

“On the issue of Turji, he is just a deranged individual who feels power, but I can bet you that it’s just a matter of time.

“It is a matter of time; we’re going to get him, and I can assure you that it will be within the shortest possible time.

“We’re going to address that issue on the issue of payment of levy to bandits. That is what they live on. And it shows you the desperation they are in.

“One, even when they get the money, they don’t have a way to use it. Two is that the money they’re getting, they know, is blood money.”

However, in response to the CDS, Turji, in a video on Wednesday, the bandit dared the Army chief to come and get him.

Dressed in military uniforms with a couple of his men fully armed, Turji reiterated that he was not afraid of death, insisting that he was defending his Fulani people from soldiers who are sent to kill them.

He called on Musa to enlist renowned Islamic cleric, Murtala Asada, (who had accused Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle of sponsoring Turji and other bandit leaders) to join the battlefield and face him directly.
