Ex-Super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo has backed embattled Victor Osimhen to come back stronger following the unfortunate drama around his transfer from Napoli.

Osimhen failed to secure a deal before the deadline of the European transfer window, with a prospective Chelsea move failing in the last minute.

The Napoli striker has currently lost his place in the squad of the Serie A giants, with manager Antonio Conte saying he cannot rejoin the team.

Reactions have been trailing the situation from Nigerians and non-Nigerians, and Ighalo is of the opinion that Nigerians should rather support Osimhen at this time.

Reacting to the development, Ighalo, via his personal X handle, stated that Osimhen is human and not exempt from making mistakes.

He wrote: “No human being is perfect and we have all made mistakes in life, but seeing comments about this young man from his own country people make me really sad, without even knowing what happened.

“I spoke to him and I can feel the pain in his voice, the way he’s been treated, this young man play with heart and pains for his country.

“Hmmm it’s well, he will definitely be back stronger, we learn everyday in life. Happy New Month to y’all,” Ighalo wrote.
