    Suspected pirates abduct 10 maritime workers in Rivers

    Gunmen suspected to be sea pirates on Monday abducted 10 maritime workers in Rivers State.

    The victims were traveling from Bonny to Port Harcourt waterway when they came under attack.

    The Chairman of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Rivers State District, Israel Pepple, confirmed the incident to journalists in Port Harcourt.

    He said “Yes, 10 persons coming from Bonny to Port Harcourt were kidnapped this morning. We have reported the matter to the security agencies.”

    The state police command also confirmed the abduction.
