Former presidential spokesperson under Goodluck Jonathan, Dr Doyin Okupe, has come in for a lot of mockery and criticism after he took to his X handle to say that Vice President Kashim Shettima is one of the most brilliant and articulate politicians from the North.

In the post, Okupe said he had observed Shettima over the years and has come to the conclusion that he is a rare breed with a personality that stands him out of the pack.

“From the time of GEJ Administration, I have not been someone you can call a friend of the VP Alh Shetima,” Okupe wrote.

“But since he became the VP, I have had to take a closer look at his personae. This gentleman is probably one of the most brilliant, lucid and articulate politicians from the North,” Okupe, a former Director-General of the Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign council, emphasized.

However, the post elicited a lot of criticism with many users coming for him and making a mockery of the statement.
