    SOCIAL MEDIA TRENDS: Netizens react as Ebonyi Dep Gov shares N1k to poor residents as poverty alleviation (Video)

    The Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Princess Patricia Obila, has come in for heavy criticism after she was caught in a video sharing out N1,000 each to indigent residents as part of her poverty alleviation programme.

    In the video which has gone viral on social media, Princess Obila is seen going round what appears to be a popular transport unit in Abakiliki, doling out the cash to commercial motorcyclists as well as some physically challenged people.

    An X user with the handle @Kayorinyon who shared the video on Tuesday wrote:

    “A video of Ebonyi Deputy Governor Princess Patricia Obila sharing ₦1k to the poor in Abakaliki is making waves. This comes after she donated to a church and provided fertilizers to farmers. Mixed reactions are pouring in—what are your thoughts?”
