    Police arrests 11 suspected kidnappers in Kaduna

    Police operatives in Kaduna have arrested 11 suspected kidnappers and recovered weapons in the state.

    The spokesman for the state police command, Mansir Hassan, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna.

    Hassan recalled that a district head was kidnapped on August 14 and released two later.

    He said: “On September 2, at about 0500hrs, police operatives of Saminaka in collaboration with a team of local hunters group while acting on credible intelligence, carried out raids in three different villages in Lere Local Government Area.

    “The villages are Maraban Wasa, Gurzan Hakimi Mariri, and Abugan Kurama.

    “Five suspects were arrested over the kidnap of the district head.”

    The spokesman listed the suspects as Abdulhamid Abubakar aka Bala, Danjuma Luka aka Uba, Ayuba Simon, Idi Saleh, and seven others.

    “The exhibits recovered from the suspects included one fabricated single-barrel gun, one green Golf car, one Bajaj motorcycle, and eight mobile phones,” he added.
