    By Onome Naomi

Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) yesterday arrested a suspected vehicle thief and recovered a stolen Toyota Camry, 2013 model in Alausa Central Business District, Ikeja.

The suspect, Ada Joseph, 27, a former employee of the owner of the vehicle was arrested on Wednesday with the black Camry by RRS operatives acting on credible intelligence.

Ada stole the vehicle around 7:00 a.m. yesterday in Osapa London, Lekki and drove it to Ikeja where a buyer was waiting for him before he was arrested around 11:00 a.m.

Ada had worked with the owner of the vehicle for about a year before he was sacked by the owner sometime around June, 2024. The suspect confessed to have duplicated the vehicle key before he was sacked.

Ada disclosed that he wanted to use the proceeds of the sales of the stolen vehicle to bury his embalmed father.

The suspect has been transferred to the State Command for further investigations.
