    Naira sheds N21 against dollar at official window, trades N1,562/$1

    The naira began the week on a low by losing N21 against the American dollar at the official window on Monday, September 23, 2024.

    The local currency traded at N1,562/$1 at the official window according
    to data from the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM).

    This indicated that the N1,562/$1 was N21 lower than the N1,541/$1 the currency traded at the official window the previous trading day.

    The naira lost N2 against the dollar at the parallel section of the forex market to trade at N1,665/$1 as against the previous day’s rate of N1,663/$1.

    The naira however shed N25 against the British Pound to trade at N2,250/£1 same as the previous rate of N2,225£1.

    The Canadian dollar traded at N1,280/ CA$1 same as the previous rate of N1,280/CA$1.

    The naira also lost N10 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,840/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,830/€1.
