    Naira recovers further, gains N13 to trade at N1,580/$1

    The naira started the week on a positive note against the American dollar at the official window on Monday, September 9, 2024.

    The local currency traded at N1,580/$1 at the official window according 

    to data from the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM).

    This indicated that the N1,580/$1 was N13 lower than the N1,593/$1 the currency traded at the official window at the end of last week.

    The intra-day high and low recorded during the day were N1,660/$1 and N1,570/$1 respectively, representing a very lean spread of N90$1.

    The naira gained N20 against the dollar at the parallel section of the forex market to trade N1,655/$1 as against the previous N1,675/$1.

    The naira also gained N20 against the British Pound to trade N2,180/£1 as against the previous N2,200£1.

    The Canadian dollar closed flat against the naira to trade N1,250| CA$1.

    The naira also gained N20 against the Euro to trade ₦1,800/€1 as against the previous day’s ₦1,820/€1.
