A new Robovan and an enhanced version of its humanoid robot “Optimus” were unveiled by Tesla owned by Elon Musk in addition to the much anticipated Robotaxi.

Musk unveiled a working prototype of the Cybercab (a vehicle without pedals or steering wheels) at the Warner Bros. Discovery studio in California during the “We, Robot” event.

Tesla also unveiled the Robovan, an autonomous car with space for up to 20 people, and an improved iteration of its “Optimus” humanoid robot in addition to the Cybercab.

Musk claimed during the launch that the price of autonomous transportation would be so low as to be on par with public transportation.

He eventually stated that the robotaxi’s running costs would be 20 cents per mile, or 30 to 40 cents when taxes are included.

He also talked about how the current modes of transportation “suck” and how cars are on standby all the time. A car that’s autonomous could be used more, he said. “With autonomy, you get your time back… Autonomous cars are going to become 10 times safer.”
