Elon Musk, a tech entrepreneur, has contributed over 119 million dollars to Republican Donald Trump’s presidential campaign thus far.

By the middle of October, the CEO of Tesla had deposited $43.6 million to America PAC, an organization whose main goal is to win swing states like Pennsylvania that are fiercely contested.

Musk, who has also appeared at multiple Trump rallies, donated over $75 million between July and the end of September.

One registered voter at a time is receiving $1 million every day as part of America PAC’s contentious daily giveaway.

The U.S. Department of Justice cautioned Musk that the effort might break electoral law, according to U.S. media on Wednesday.

The campaign, which is targeted at registered voters who sign a petition, will run until Election Day on November 5.

Only registered voters in one of seven swing states are eligible to sign the petition, which is about “freedom of speech and the right to bear arms.”

The U.S. election law prohibits paying citizens to register to vote or to cast a ballot.

Musk contends that the million-dollar donation is lawful since it aims to raise awareness of the petition.

In what is predicted to be a close battle for the White House, Trump is vying for the presidency against Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris.
