Nigerian adolescents are to be transformed from consumers to producers by the Potters Wheel Foundation (TPWF), an NGO based in Enugu. This was disclosed at a private meeting by TPWF President Brother Godsown Onuzulike.

TPWF specializes on producing sanitary, domestic goods using raw materials that are produced locally. Its main goal is to give unemployed Nigerian women and youth the skills and entrepreneurial abilities they need to be productive, self-sufficient, and contribute to the economic development of both Nigeria and Enugu state.

Over 20,000 Nigerian youths have received online and offline training from TPWF since its founding in 2020 across its operational stations in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. With almost 8,500 individuals trained, Enugu station has the most.

According to Onuzulike, the majority of trainees have either succeeded alone or joined other manufacturing companies. Through Hon. Lloyd Ekweremadu, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, the government of Governor Peter Mbah has teamed up with TPWF to provide short-term entrepreneurship skills training to youth in the 17 local government areas, ages 15 to 35, in an effort to extend its humanitarian services outside the metropolis of Enugu state.

Each senatorial zone will get two weeks of training from November 4–December 14, 2024, with concurrent courses held in each local government area. In December, trainees will receive their certificates. Logistics for trainees to launch their enterprises will be provided by the state government.

Despite [briefly specify particular problems], Onuzulike characterized TPWF’s four years of humanitarian effort as successful. He urges civic-minded people and groups to work with The Potter’s Wheel Foundation to provide these free entrepreneurial and vocational training programs to communities throughout Enugu state and Nigeria as a whole.
